Denim Alchemy: A Stitching Retreat

Event Description

Come join us to stitch and embellish a jean jacket! This is a 4 day retreat held on Aug 7-10, 2025. We will provide a multitude of sewing materials, embroidery thread and patches so you can decorate your jacket (bring a jean jacket that you like with you). Janette McColl can help you design your creation or you can work your own magic. Beginners welcome! No sewing experience required. Price of $375 includes sewing supplies, a homemade pizza dinner, 3 lunches, endless coffee and light snacks. We have sewing machines available to use (but we much prefer the look of hand stitching). Come to the most fun Stitch and B*tch of the year and bring your most fun friend with you. Dinners for Friday and Saturday night are on your own. BYOB -- we won't be checking what's in your thermos :) Please explore the class schedule and information on the drop down menu above before you book so there's no surprises. You can camp for free onsite, or rent our beautiful bedroom (double bed) in the schoolhouse for a small fee - email us if you're interested. There's links to a couple of hotels in the area as well. We will gather at 4pm on Aug 7th to settle in to the studio and enjoy some apps with your fellow makers. Then - oh yes - Mike McColl will make his famous homemade pizza at 6pm. We'll wrap it all up on Sunday afternoon. You'll take your beautiful stitched creation home with you, just in time to wear on cool Fall evenings.
